Sunday School at Creation Station

Creation Station is where our workshop rotation Sunday school takes place for children up to grade 4. Experts agree that there are multiple ways in which children learn. Some learn best by hearing, some by seeing; some will retain more knowledge by making something with their hands, others by using creative language. The principle behind workshop rotation Sunday school is to use various methods of teaching important Bible stories so that multiple learning styles are addressed. Students spend several weeks learning the same Bible story in different ways - in rotating workshops listed below. We have found that our children love this method - it's like Vacation Bible School every Sunday.

Drama
Children dress up and play the part of a character in a Bible story. They learn about Bible customs and the history behind various books of the Bible. And sometimes they just like to dress up for fun!

Crafts
Creating something with your very own hands can build strong kinesthetic memories. And when you're done, you have something you made yourself to show your family!

Puppets
Kids love to watch puppets portraying biblical stories. And they remember what they saw long after the show is over. Puppets are colorful and hold the attention of even the most restless student. Kids also get the chance to be the puppeteers and act out their own versions of the stories they learn.

Computers
Kids and computers naturally go together these days! Our computer lab has software for all ages, including highly-acclaimed "Life of Jesus" program, in which students go on a quest for biblical knowledge, finding treasures along the way and eventually earning the rank of Master Bible Explorer.

Cooking
Who would think that cooking helps kids learn Bible stories? But it does! Kids learn about food from long ago and they have fun making food items that symbolize characters or stories. It's a tasty and fun way to learn!

Storytelling
Some children learn best by listening to the spoken word. After all, faith comes by hearing the Word of God. We strive to build disciples who are biblically literate - that is the strong foundation on which discipleship is built.
