Sunday Schedule
9:00 a.m. -
Worship
We gather ten minutes before the official start of worship for announcements, temple talks, etc. The worship service is a "blended" worship service, using contemporary songs supported by audio-visual images and praise team music and traditional hymns of
the Lutheran Church supported by organ or piano. We currently use setting 8 from Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
Holy Communion is offered at all worship services; it is received kneeling at the altar
rail on the first and third Sundays of each month and by processional intinction
on the remaining Sundays. A staffed nursery is available during the worship service.
10:00 a.m. Fellowship, Education and Discipleship Hour
Following the worship service we offer
refreshments and fellowship downstairs in the fellowship hall. Christian Education is
offered for all ages, beginning at 10:15 a.m. Children through fourth grade meet in "Creation Station" adjacent to the church building; 5th and 6th grade students participate in a pre-confirmation class; 7th and 8th grade students meet in confirmation class; older youth gather in the "Depend on God (D.O.G.) house next to the church; adult discussion groups meet in the sanctuary.

About Our Worship
The term liturgy means "the work of the people." We gather to offer our praise and prayers,
to hear God's word in scripture and sermon, to receive the sacrament of Holy
Communion and to be sent into the world as the Body of Christ. The people of
First Lutheran carry out the
ministries of welcome, ushering, scripture reading, worship
assisting , music and audio-visual
support. The pastor leads the worship, offers the sermon in various ways,
including an occasional song, and presides during the sacrament of Holy
Communion, which is offered at all worship services.
